SEASON THREE: Timeline by Paul
Newberry
League expands to 14 teams and splits
into three division with addition of Indianapolis
Racers and Phoenix Roadrunners. Jersey moves to
San Diego and becomes the Mariners. Los Angeles
is transformed into the Michigan Stags, based in
Detroit, but becomes the Baltimore Blades midway
through the season and folds altogether after completing
the schedule. Chicago Cougars also go out of business
at season's end.
